The Saffron Walden Lions Club was inaugurated in May 1983.
Our main function is to raise money for all sorts of organisations such as;
Macmillan Nurses and Marie Curie Nurses
Injured Soldiers Fund and Help The Hero’s
St. Elizabeth’s Epilepsy Centre
St. Clair and EACH Hospice’s
Support 4 Sight, a support charity for the visually impaired.
Plus many other charitable organisations and individuals that need funds.
We currently have 15 members from all walks of life, the club consist of both genders, although we do have a sister Lioness club which is all ladies.
Although our main aim is to raise money we have a social side where we can enjoy a meal or a walk and sometimes a bit of punting on the Cam, not for the faint hearted or petanque which is less prone to getting the members wet.
